Internet connection protecting procedure .........

1)Use the following ip address,

      http://192.168.1.1

2)Login with default user id and password. The default user id and password is "admin"

3)The interface is as follows.

4)On the left hand side, click on "wireless" link.

 

 

5)Now under "Wireless link", click on Basic option.

 



6)Now you will get the following interface.

 

7)Now check  "Enable Wireless" option. Then you will get the following interface.

8) Now enter any name, you like as SSID name.

9) Select country name and click on "Save/ Apply" button.

10) Now you return to previous interface, in that click on Security option, which is under Wireless link.

11)Now you will get the following interface.

12)Now enable  WEP Encryption option.

13)Now you see the following options

14)Now choose Encryption Strength , either  64-bit or 128-bit.

  15)Now provide current network key.(1 or 2 or3 or 4)

16)Based on current network key , provide Network key value. If you have chosen Current Network key as 1, then you have to provide value in respect to Network Key 1.


17)Network key value should satisfy the following conditions.

    a) if the Encryption Strength is 64-bit the Network key should consist of 10 alphanumeric characters.
      
       Ex: Sridhar249

  b) If the encryption strength is 128-bit the Network key should consist of 13 alphanumeric characters.
      
           Ex: 249Sridhar249

18) Now click on Save / Apply button.

Now, your internet connection is safe and protected.
