Memory Classification : -
Computer memory can be classified into 2 categories
1. Primary Memory
2. Secondary Memory
Primary Memory :
It is internal Memory. We can also called it Main Memory.
This is 2 types
1.RAM (Random Access Memory)
2.ROM (Read Only Memory)
RAM :
It is a volatile memory. In this data are stored as long as the powe is on ( Computer is on.)
ROM :
It is a non - volatile memory. i.e., the data which are stored in it will resides permunantly , irrespective of the power status
Secondary Memory :
It is external storage Memory.
Commonly used devices for external storage are as follows
Floppy Disk, Hard Disk Drive (HDD)/ Whinchester Disk, Compact Disk (CD), Blue Ray Disk, etc.
